Shear Genius: Global Trend Setting with the Iconic Guido Palau

In 2015, Redken and Guido celebrate their 10th year as partners, where they have worked hand-in-hand to create some of the most iconic hairstyles and influential trends that continue to shape the fashion and beauty industries.

Guido was born in Dorset, England and got his hair dressing start at The Sassoon Academy in London. With his biggest break styling hair for George Michael’s “Freedom! 90” video featuring Linda Evangelista and Cindy Crawford and won Sassoon Stylist of the Year at the British Hairdressing Awards. (He won the title again 3 years later).
His current client list includes Marc Jacobs, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Calvin Klein, Versace, Lanvin, Jil Sander, Alexander Wang, Roberto Cavalli and many more.

Where do you get your inspiration from when creating new looks on the runways?
I really get my inspiration from everywhere and everything – daily encounters, books, magazines and working with the designers.

What are you most excited for with hair trends in 2015?
I’m loving these new sort of sculpted updos we’re seeing at Fall/Winter 2015 Fashion Week – they look so new to the eye.
