SLS Baha Mar
Nassau, The Bahamas

Our imagination is tantalized with visions of swashbuckling pirates reveling in their loot from captured Caribbean merchant ships in a Disney-esque version of a 17th century Nassau, The Bahamas. Once home to colorful bands of pirates, Nassau is now known as the Caribbean’s most sought after sophisticated destination for discerning travelers seeking five-star destination luxury, world-class beaches, top snorkeling and diving reefs, action, entertainment, dining and shopping extravagances and an incomparable island ambience. Fantasy and fantastic combine with golden sand beaches, sparkling turquoise Caribbean waters, stunning reefs, awe-inspiring sunsets and endless blue skies to create a new kind of Caribbean haven.  Set your GPS for a fashion-forward jaunt to SLS Baha Mar, the newest hotel to open within Baha Mar, the $4.2 billion beachfront resort destination along 3,000 feet of sparkling white sand beach in Nassau, The Bahamas. After debuting in November 2017 as the first international SLS Hotel, the 299-room SLS Baha Mar is already making its mark as the first true lifestyle hotel in the Caribbean. In signature SLS style, the lifestyle-centric vacation at SLS Baha Mar goes beyond just the beach and the hotel rooms. In-the-know travelers, celebrities, models and VIP guests are flocking here for the cutting-edge dining, hip nightlife and stylish entertainment.

Harnessing sbe’s signature specialties in innovative cuisine and dynamic nightlife, on-property at SLS Baha Mar the group currently operates Cleo, Monkey Bar (the signature SLS lobby bar), Bungalow Pool Bar & Grill, and Privilege Pool (the VIP pool party hot spot). Looking ahead, Skybar will open on property in summer 2018 as the first rooftop lounge in Nassau featuring 360-degree views of the ocean and island beyond. Additionally, on the Baha Mar Casino floor you’ll find Katsuya (sbe’s modern take on classic Japanese cuisine), Fi’lia by Chef Michael Schwartz, the James Beard Award winner, and Bond Nightclub – sbe’s new nightlife concept offering late-night sizzle with pulsating deejay beats, high-tech audiovisual features, custom mixology and table side bottle service.  Deemed the “hottest reservation in Nassau” by The Daily Meal, Katsuya is one of the main culinary highlights serving masterful cuisine by sushi chef Katsuya Uechi. Within an edgy and seductive setting created by the famed interior designer Philippe Stark, the menu features signature specialties such as the Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeño alongside Bahamas-specific dishes like the coconut cream-topped conch salad served in its own coconut shell.

Cleo Mediterráneo
, another signature sbe restaurant, is located on property at SLS Baha Mar giving foodies a menu full of more reasons to get The Bahamas on their must-visit lists. Cleo features a Mediterranean-inspired menu emphasizing local ingredients, mezzes, flatbreads, shared plates, and handcrafted cocktails in an energetic and sociable setting right off the SLS lobby.  Adding an Italian option to sbe’s dynamic culinary mix, Fi’lia is an honest Italian restaurant by Chef Michael Schwartz, a James Beard Award Winner. Located on the main Baha Mar Casino floor just steps from SLS Baha Mar, this is Fi’lia’s first international outpost and second location overall after opening at SLS Brickell in Miami last year. Inspired by the simplicity of Italian cuisine, the menu centers on straightforward dishes that highlight fresh, seasonal ingredients, housemade pasta and memorable signatures like the Tableside Caesar Salad.

If a break from eating and drinking is needed, sun-seekers opt for lounging poolside in cabanas at Bungalow Pool (one of two pools at SLS Baha Mar) where a more chill vibe makes you feel like you’re living your best life. Additionally, SLS guests have access to shared amenities of the greater Baha Mar complex including the ESPA Spa, 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Golf Course, the Caribbean’s largest casino, kayak and paddleboard rentals at the beach, The Sanctuary aquarium (swim with nurse sharks here!), and The Current – an art gallery with a stunning collection of local artwork and other compelling Bahamian artistic experiences.  In short, SLS Baha Mar is a game changer. Forget what you think you know about Nassau. This is the new Nassau and it’s most certainly worth a trip (or two). Visit www.slsbahamar.com for information and reservations.
