20 Questions with Lorena Rae

Modeliste: Where are you from?

Lorena Rae: I was born and raised in Diepholz, Germany.

Modeliste: What made your decision to move to New York?

Lorena Rae: After working in Europe for quite a bit I thought it was time to dream bigger and see what else is out there for me. The first time I came to New York I only stayed for a few months to find an agency and to meet some potential clients. After that went well I said to myself: you need to move here!

Modeliste: What languages do you speak?

Lorena Rae: My mother language is German and I am fluent in English. While being quarantined with my boyfriend in France I started to learn French online to be a little productive during this quiet time. (And I can order a beer in Spanish )

Modeliste: What three words would you use to describe yourself?

Lorena Rae: I would say I am humble, polite and sensitive. Basically a very typical Cancer ♋️.

Modeliste: What has been a highlight in your career?

Lorena Rae: Definitely being part of the VSFS 2018 was and will forever be one of my favorite career moments.

Modeliste: What is your favorite part about traveling?

Lorena Rae: What I love most about traveling for work is for sure getting to see certain parts of the world that I would have never been able to visit on my own.

Modeliste: Can you tell us about the best place you’ve traveled to and a place you want to travel?

Lorena Rae: One of the best places I’ve been to was definitely New Zealand. I shot a Coverstory there and the landscape was just incredible. Also shooting a bikini campaign in the Maldives was very special.

Modeliste: What is your favorite cheat meal?

Lorena Rae: I am obsessed with Nutella and I love bread and butter. So basically any pastry that has Nutella in or on it won’t be save around me on a cheat day! Other than that I love a great cheeseburger, fries and a LOT of ketchup.

Modeliste: What are two staple items in your closet?

Lorena Rae: A nice oversized black blazer and a black strappy heel! With either or even both of these you can give any outfit a chic touch to it.

Modeliste: What are three beauty products you cannot live without?

Lorena Rae: A moisturizer ( I currently use Augustinus Bader), a Make-Up remover ( the best in my opinion is the Bioderma Make-Up removing micelle solution) and an eyebrow gel (my all time favorite is the clear eyebrow gel from Anastasia Beverly Hills).

Modeliste: What are your tricks to staying fit?

Lorena Rae: It’s all about finding a Balance for yourself. Find a routine. Find workouts that you enjoy to do and plan your workout-days and chose your cheat days so you don’t slip into uncontrolled and lazy behavior.

Modeliste: Do you feel that becoming a Victoria’s Secret model has made a difference in your career?

Lorena Rae: Yes. It definitely helped me to get more recognition from brands and clients that maybe didn’t know my name before.

Modeliste: What is one thing about you that has never changed?

Lorena Rae: I always have and forever will be a big family person. I love to be at home and to be with my family as much as I can.

Modeliste: Would you consider yourself and extrovert or introvert?

Lorena Rae: That’s a very tricky question to answer. I would say I am both. In my job, on set, at events and parties I am very much outgoing and not shy at all. But whenever I am home and in one of those ”I don’t want to see and talk to anybody” moods I can become the biggest introvert ever!

Modeliste: Can you share any projects you have been working on?

Lorena Rae: I have been working on a charity project very close to my heart and I can’t wait to share more about it very soon!

Modeliste: If you could go back in time and have dinner with one person, who would that be?

Lorena Rae: George Michael so I could ask him to perform at my wedding one day.

Modeliste: Blue Lagoon or Dirty Dancing ? Dirty Dancing

Lorena Rae: If you would tour the country, would it be by motorbike, sports car or camper van? Camper Van

Modeliste: What superhero is your favorite?

Lorena Rae: My Parents

Modeliste: Xbox, playstation or PC ?

Lorena Rae: Hmmm .. Singstar on Playstation and Mario Cart on Nintendo

Modeliste: What game are you playing at the moment?

Lorena Rae: Woody on my iPhone. I swear it’s addicting and I am crazy good at it 😉 !
