These days, there are a number of procedures that can restore a more youthful appearance without the need to cut and stich.  These state-of-the-art non-surgical procedures are performed on an outpatient basis in the physician’s office, without the need of general anesthesia, and have zero to minimal down time.  Technology has improved tremendously allowing for minimally invasive cosmetic procedures that deliver quicker, sometimes immediate results and the risk of serious complications has tremendously decreased.

REJUVENATION QUICKIES

Thread lifting is a quick and safe procedure that “utilizes a specialized polydioxanone (PDO) suture to lift droopy, loose and saggy skin. The suture has tiny barb like edges that attach to the undersurface of the skin or the underlying fat. The sutures are gently adjusted to lift and move the skin” Dr. Schweitzer explains.  Patients are comfortably numbed with injection of local anesthesia into the skin during the treatment.These specialized threads are made of suture material which has been around for many years.  Dr. Schweitzer tells us that “polydioxanone (PDO) threads have tiny barb like structures which hook onto the skin to provide support and lift sagging skin.  Over a few weeks the threads trigger fibroblasts to induce collagen production around the threads and keep the lifted look.  The threads are eventually broken down by the body but the collagen persists for several additional months. Common thread lift areas are falling eyebrows, skin on the cheeks that drop forward toward the upper lip, the lower face descending toward the chin, the jowls and drooping of the neck. Threads can also be used for a tummy and butt lift.  Definitely not the same threads used by your seamstress to hem up your pants!

SCULPT AND FIRM UP
Skin tightening, body contouring and cellulite treatments that utilize radiofrequency have minimal down time and can be performed in combination or as individual treatments.  Dr. Schweitzer utilizes both Plus™ and Body FX™ to contour, lift skin, and improve dimpled cellulite skin.  Body FX™ utilizes radio-frequency energy, deep tissue heating, and suction coupled negative pressure to reduce the unsightly appearance of cellulite leading to improvements in your body contour.  BodyFX™ also attacks fat cells, killing them through a process called apoptosis.  The Plus™ uses fractionated radio-frequency energy to stimulate collagen production leading to an uplifted, firmer and smoother contour of the body.
