Daughter-in-law to the fashion icon Diane Von Furstenberg, Alexandra is well versed in the world of fashion and has elegantly created her own modern and chic collections ranging from dining tables and desks to accent and decor pieces. Alexandra’s gracious and radiant beauty are ever present in her design philosophy as we learned in our interview with the woman who once was instrumental in bring us the iconic wrap dress.

Modeliste: What has been your inspiration behind the line’s creation?
AVF: I was inspired by diamonds and the faceted gem cuts.

Modeliste: How would you describe your own personal style.
AVF: Less is more. Balancing design with functionality.

Modeliste: How is your own personal sense of style reflected in your line?
AVF: My belief in “less is more” translates to a zen like environment, which is the way I like to surround myself in my home.

Modeliste: What are 3 tips to transition your home decor for Spring.

AVF: Find a focal point in a room that inspires you. It can be an objet, piece of art, or even something like an orchid or tree. Then add or subtract from there. I love bringing nature indoors, especially in the Spring with all the flowers blooming and fruits ready to harvest. When doing so, I find it best to keep it simple. One type of flower in a beautiful vase, or a bowl of all one fruit, conveys a feeling of sophisticated ease, as well as keeping it easy to do!
Have fun and pump up the color in the Spring. It’s a time of new beginnings, and a great time to bring something fresh into your home. Pillows, bowls, throws, and other home accessories are great and easy ways to bring colors to match the season. In Spring, clean fresh colors are the way to go.
