If you want to go temporarily straight, you can use our straightening serum, blow or iron your hair and know that you can come back to curly in a flash. For those women who prefer to relax their hair, they can use our sulfate free shampoo, conditioners, and hair silk. Either way, Mixed Chicks can keep a variety of hair textures shining brilliantly!
What makes it so unique and innovative in the industry?
When we launched in 2004 we were trendsetters representing the multicultural hair needs. We are just as relevant today amongst many copycat brands.
We opened the doors and eyes for retailers and other brands that previously had ignored the multicultural customer. Regardless of the copycat brands, our products and name brand hang a lantern on the mixed market. That helps us—drives us to continue as a flagship for the multicultural market.
What inspired the line’s creation?
Personal need. For years, multi-cultural people with hard to manage hair traveled from store to store, trying to blend products in a hopeless attempt to tame their locks. Wendi LEVY and Kim ETHEREDGE, two “mixed chicks”, created a product line because they needed it. Then, something happened…friends and family started encouraging them to package it, and soon they had a full blown business running out of the garage. After a little door to door hustling, a few celebrity endorsements, and a ton of online customer support, MIXED CHICKS is bringing their products to the world.
What do you see as the top 2016 hair trends? I think the “bob” will be the biggest trend. With this classic cut you can really enjoy the versatility of your texture by wearing it tightly coiled, wavy or bone straight.
Curls will continue.
Showing off waves if you have them, or creating them if you don’t.
Regardless, these textures need to fight frizz and tangles. We will be there for that!
