Hello gorgeous, Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Hi guys! My name is Amy Julliette Lefévre and I am based out of NYC. I grew up with my family in Belgium, Gambia, and Senegal and moved to the U.S. to live with my mother at the age of 9!

How would you define yourself in three words?
Creative, Goofy, and Passionate

In what ways have you been incorporating self – care into your daily routine?
Self-care is absolutely essential, especially now when we are faced with a number of national traumas. I have been exercising every day to relieve stress. I make sure to eat well but also treat myself. I have a bath routine where I can just unplug and relax. Then, of course, are my skin care routines.

What’s the most fulfilling part of your job?
I just love that my job fundamentally entails creativity. I come from a family of artists and to be able to be creative in my career is a dream come true!

Can you tell us about an exciting time in your career?
My first few jobs with some of my favorite brands were so surprising and a great experience for me. It was amazing to work with L’Oreal, Apple, and some of my favorite fashion houses!

What would you title this current chapter in your life?
Growth and Learning


How do you educate yourself on ways of maintaining healthy skin?

YouTube, IG, and my friends that are in the beauty industry!

What do you love most about Pixi Beauty?

What does the word empowerment mean to you?
Empowerment means confidence in who you are and knowing your worth. Every single one of us has the right to be empowered and stride with belief in ourselves.

In what ways do you use your platform for the greater good?
It is so important for us all to continue to use our platforms, regardless of size, to promote justice and work to improve the world we live in. I have been working with a great group of girls on a recent project for which 10% of all profits will be donated to the United Negro College Fund and I have aimed to work with brands that are taking significant action against racism, prejudice and injustice.


During these tough times, what has kept you motivated?

The solidarity that we have seen from all over the world to reject hate has really been such a motivation for me. It has been really inspiring and does provide hope that we will see improvements.

How do you remain fit, active, and healthy with stay-at-home orders intact?
Lots of running up and down my stairs! I try to go for runs around the neighborhood and eat as well as I can!

As a creative in quarantine, how have you found inspiration and ways to create?
I loved watching people on the streets of various cities to get inspiration. During quarantine, I like looking through old magazines and books for inspiration! Comfort is also key, so that is definitely driving new additions to my closet

What and/or who has had the most influence on your growth and why?
My mother is such an inspiration to me and always supports me to push harder and work endlessly. She has moved mountains to provide me with opportunities, so I want to work as hard for her as well.

How can you as an individual actively take part in fighting a system of oppression and standing in solidarity with your peers of color to amplify their voices?
Education is key. Once the trend fades away and the news cycle moves to the next crisis, hold yourself accountable and really work on learning because our differences pale in comparison to the joint challenges we will all continue to face.


How have you found ways to educate yourself and those around you?

These are not new issues, systematic oppression and injustice, have been eloquently written about for generations.
I have been re-reading and watching interviews by Toni Morrison. Looking into today’s though leaders like Eddie Glaude, and sharing thoughts on social media

What do you think are ways that others can help society and our surrounding communities?
Do whatever you can, whether it’s donating your time or any part of your income. You can continue to learn and educate yourself and your family that might have different perspectives. End of the day, we can all simply be kinder, more caring and just remember that we are all human and are trying to improve ourselves.

In what ways has your life changed due to current events?
I have had time to meditate, reflect and think through what is really important to me. It truly has made me more appreciative

What advice do you have for someone who aspires to create a career like your own?
Hard work is key, confidence is the foundation, and push yourself to never give up!
