How did you begin your career as an influencer?
In 2013 whilst working full time I started a blog as a hobby to write about all things makeup and fashion. I remember discovering Kenza Zouiten’s blog and quickly becoming obsessed with her style which inspired me to start delving into fashion more. A few years later I took the plunge and started my YouTube channel which at the start I spoke about makeup (which everyone and their mums would do on there lol), after a handful of videos I filmed a travel vlog with my sister which my subscribers seemed to prefer more than my usual content, so I turned my focus to vlog content rather than tutorials which turned out to be a huge success as 8 years later we’re currently at 1.3 million amazing subscribers!
What can people expect to see when following you on social media?
Loads of makeup hack videos, skincare holy grails, fashion videos and my favourite places to travel.
A highlight and a goal you hope to accomplish in your career?
A highlight would be being the face of Benefit Cosmetics campaign for their extended Hoola Bronzer shades – a literal pinch me moment! A goal that I hope to accomplish in my career is creating a successful brand that my audience loves.
Top 3 favorite fashion brands?
Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga and Prada.
3 beauty products you cannot live without?
Pixi Glow Mist, Ole Henriksen C-Rush creme and Benefit Cosmetics Boi-ing Bright concealer.
What tips & tricks can you extend to someone aspiring to have a career like your own?
Video content and persistence. The great thing about platforms such as TikTok is that you can go viral without having a big following. When you see a trend, get involved ASAP! Create content that you love and be consistent.
Go to outfit for a summer lunch with the girls?
Either jeans and a cute top or a fitted midi dress.
What’s something you’re looking forward to this summer?
As a new mum I’m really looking forward to traveling with my son and husband. I know you’ve probably heard every mother say this but they grow so quickly lol, I love taking him abroad and showing him the world, although he won’t remember these trips they’ll stay with me for a lifetime.
What’s something our Modeliste readers would be surprised to learn about you?
Maybe that I speak fluent Arabic people are usually surprised when I tell them
Who/What inspires you?
Ok I’m going to be a bit soppy here but my husband is the first person that comes to mind. I could sit here and tell you 101 reasons but ain’t nobody got time for that lol. He’s the most loving, caring, hard working person I’ve met. His ambition and determination inspire me every day to be the best version of myself.
At what point did you turn your social media platform into a career?
I’d say in 2016 is when. things got real. I handed in my job notice and began to turn my hobby to my full time job.
What’s your dream collaboration?
My dream collaboration would be a skincare edit with Ole Henriksen or Pixi, I love both brands so much and have used them for years, it would be a dream come true!
How do you hope to influence people through your social media platforms?
I hope to influence people to be unapologetically themselves. On my platforms I share the good, the bad, the ugly. I show people that it’s normal to have stretch marks, it’s ok to show yourself without filters, that not everything that glitters is gold.
What would you like to say to your fans?
Firstly, I wish I could hug every single one of you!! From the bottom of my heart thank you for all of your love and support, as cliche as it sounds, I honestly wouldn’t be here without you and I appreciate every single one of you.
