What’s the first thing you do each morning?
I make a delicious cup of something hot. Whether it's coffee or tea, it always gets me ready to take on the day.

What’s a song that’s currently on repeat in your playlist?
Levi Jeans by the Queen Bey! I’ve been a fan of Beyoncé before I could walk, and I'm still in a chokehold from her Christmas halftime show performance. This song was my favorite from her Cowboy Carter album, and seeing her perform it live made me fall in love with it for the second time. I seriously cannot get this song out of my head! I love you down to the bone.

If you could swap lives with someone for a day, who would it be?
Sorry, not sorry to be so redundant, but Beyoncé! I'm an R&B singer, and with her being my favorite artist of all time, naturally, I would love to have my music impact the lives of so many and inspire the next generation of little girls like me, the way she has inspired me.

What’s a hobby or interest you have that might surprise people?
Music is my first love, but I’ve faced some challenges in consistently sharing it with my community. Whenever I do get the chance to step into that space, it always surprises people, and I will be sharing more of my music very soon!

What’s one piece of advice you’d give your younger self?
Nelson Mandela once said, “Everything seems impossible until it’s done,” and this remains one of my favorite quotes. It serves as a powerful reminder that even when big dreams feel overwhelming, taking things one step at a time can make the impossible achievable.

What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done?
The most adventurous thing I’ve ever done was moving to Cape Town, South Africa, for three months by myself to pursue modeling. It was an experience that pushed me out of my comfort zone, taught me independence, and opened my eyes to a new world of opportunities. I did it again a couple of years after, and it’s now a special place I think of as a second home.

If you could have dinner with three people, living or historical, who would they be?
1. Nelson Mandela - to gain wisdom on perseverance and leadership.
2. Beyoncé - to talk artistry, discipline, and legacy.
3. Maya Angelou - to hear her stories, poetry, and profound insights on life.

How do you typically spend a lazy Sunday?
Sundays are my favorite days to reset. I ease into the morning with old school jams and a cup of coffee or tea, then spend a few hours tidying up, doing laundry, and organizing my goals for the week. I always make a few hours for my at-home spa day where I may do a full-body mask and bubble bath. It’s the perfect balance of relaxation and preparation.

What’s a fashion trend you’re loving right now?
I’m a lifetime lover of bold accessories—pieces that really make a statement. Whether it’s chunky jewelry or show-stopping bags, I believe they have the power to elevate any outfit. As the owner of MIANIK, I specialize in these bold pieces, adding a unique touch of mixing African and Indian influences with modern style.

What’s one destination on your travel bucket list?
Africa is at the top of my travel bucket list. The diversity, culture, and beauty across the continent are so inspiring. I’ve been to SA before, but there is so much more to see. From the historic sites in Egypt to the vibrant markets in Morocco and the breathtaking waterfalls in Zambia/Zimbabwe, there’s so much I want to experience and connect with.

What’s your guilty pleasure?
My guilty pleasure is definitely spicy food. Growing up with my Caribbean Guyanese roots, I’ve always loved that fiery kick in my meals. Whether it’s pepper sauce on my favorite meal or a delicious bag of flaming hot Cheetos, it’s a flavor I can’t get enough of!

What’s the most memorable compliment you’ve ever received?
One of the most memorable compliments I’ve ever received was from a close friend. She told me how beautiful I am, then said, but that’s not even the best thing about you.

She said her favorite thing about me is my silly personality and loving heart. It meant so much because it showed that who I am on the inside makes the biggest impact.

What are your favorite wellness rituals?
One of my favorite wellness rituals is working out. Whether it’s a good gym session or a flowy yoga class, there’s nothing like the rush of energy I get afterward. It’s the way my body feels alive and strong, and it always sets the tone for a productive and positive day ahead.

What’s the best book you’ve read recently?
The best book I’ve read recently is The 5 Second Rule by Mel Robbins. It’s all about how taking action in the first five seconds can break the cycle of overthinking and procrastination. It’s such a simple yet powerful concept, and it’s helped me push through moments of doubt and hesitation to take bold steps toward my goals.

If you could learn a new skill instantly, what would it be?
If I could learn a new skill instantly, it would be financial literacy. Understanding how to manage, grow, and invest my money effectively is such an empowering skill, and I know it would help me make smarter decisions for both my personal finances and my business, MIANIK.

What’s the one item you always carry in your bag?
My current favorite is the Tatcha Lip Mask. Not only does it keep my lips soft and hydrated, but it also comes with a cute little spatula to apply it in a sanitary way. It’s such a nice touch, and the packaging is gorgeous!

What’s a quality you admire most in others?

The quality I admire most in others is authenticity paired with confidence. I love when people are genuinely themselves and own it with such confidence. It’s inspiring and creates an energy that’s both empowering and magnetic.

If you weren’t doing what you’re doing now, what would your dream job be?
If I weren’t doing what I’m doing now, my dream job would be an astronaut. I’ve been in awe of the universe for as long as I can remember, and the idea of exploring space and learning more about the cosmos is something that really excites me.

What’s one goal you’ve set for yourself in the new year?
One goal I’ve set for myself in the new year is to elevate my music and share it with the world. I want to create tracks that inspire, connect with my audience on a deeper level, and push myself creatively to grow as an artist. It’s all about taking bold steps forward and staying true to the journey.
