The mystique of ‘The Hamptons’ remains timeless. Its well known image as a haven of New York’s rich and famous has permeated popular culture through movies, TV, romance novels and tabloids. The Hamptons attracts guests from around the world hoping to capture a glimpse of a genteel way of life, a celebrity, or possibly a random Housewife mixed among the flocks of City dwellers escaping to the Long Island shore to enjoy its natural beauty and a pace that flows with the season. From the beginning of time, this picturesque area where two bays meet has been a gathering place, a hub beckoning settlers, traders and travelers seeking lodging, as it still remains. Founded in 1697, America’s oldest inn, Canoe Place Inn and Cottages, has stood here as an iconic reminder of its humble origins and colorful past of many lifetimes. Thankfully, its story continues, as it once again is delivering friendly hospitality to guests of the Hamptons.

History, beauty, and New England charm make the famed East End a place of memories where the present honors the past and elevates a community to embrace the future. When a nearly forgotten and neglected national treasure that is also a prominent centuries old East End landmark is in need of an extensive intervention, inspiration, commitment, and an expert restoration team was essential to continue a valued narrative. Fortunately, the talented Workstead Interior Design team provided all that and more.

And now, Canoe Place Inn and Cottages has been lovingly transformed into a chic sophisticated boutique Hamptons treasure, its design a tribute to an amazing history and the vision of modern luxury accommodations that emerged from its strong bones, proudly set in traditionally manicured gardens with an outdoor pool and terrace. Throughout the Inn, a wealth of history is reflected in the curated art collections that adorn the walls. Each of the 20 guestrooms, 1, 2, or 3 bedroom suites, and 5 multi-bedroom cottages, feature a carefully curated aesthetic in welcoming and classic furnishings and decor, gracefully comfortable with luxe amenities, including fine Italian linens, plush robes, Costa Brazil exclusive bath toiletries. Luxury extends to the Onda Spa which offers a serene sanctuary for massage and body treatments.

The dining experience at Canoe Place Inn is led by award winning Executive Chef Ulfet Ralph, a popular media star whose Mediterranean roots and diverse training bring an inspired range of dining options and revisioned classics advantaged by the bounty of local seafood and fresh harvests of local farmer markets. The Good Ground Tavern alongside Silver Street Hospitality has become quite a sensational addition to the burgeoning East End dining scene. With a stunning Pavilion framing artistic views from its window surround, its opulent Grand Ballroom with seating for 300, plus additional spaces for event tents, Canoe Place and Inn has become the sought after venue for a wide range of events, entertainment, and finest dining.
