Tell us about the philosophy of Josie Maran beauty line.
Sourced from a UNESCO-protected region in Morocco, 100% Pure Argan Oil is the center of everything we do—from our skin-transforming products to our collaboration with women’s co-ops and Earth-first sustainability platform. Our cruelty-free formulations honor inclusivity from soil to seed to bottle and are safe and effective for every skin type and lifestyle.

We believe in the vibrational energy of conscious skincare. It is a community-centered effort, with a responsibility to support the environment, nurture the self, and cultivate joyful human connection. We celebrate the radical courage behind bare skin, and the reverberating effects of nourishing yourself from the inside out.

What makes Josie Maran so unique in the beauty industry?
Our founder, Josie, was led to the power of Argan Oil and its incredible ability to help people see with their skin and overall wellness. Our signature 100% Pure Argan Oil is sustainably and transparently sourced from a UNESCO-protected region in southwestern Morocco. The Argan nuts are distributed among 100% women-owned and operated co-ops, where the workers are paid fair living wages. From there, the nuts are hand-cracked, cold-pressed, and charcoal-filtered to make our powerfully pure Argan Oil for use all over, on hair, skin, and nails.

How would you define beauty?
Beauty is more than looking and feeling good. It’s about being a light to those around you, leading with kindness and love, and helping people and the planet we’ve inherited.

Can you tell us about your new Pro-Retinol collection?
This year we expanded our Pro-Retinol line and launched Argan Pro-Retinol Eye Cream & Whipped Argan Pro-Retinol Body Butter. The key ingredient is pink algae — it works like a traditional synthetic retinol to reduce the appearance of fine lines and smooth texture, but with absolutely zero irritation. Our pink algae is rich in beta carotene (a form of vitamin A) and it hails from a gorgeous bubblegum pink lagoon in western Australia. It’s a natural and non-irritating way to totally transform your skin.

What are Josie Maran’s best-selling beauty products?
Our newly launched Pro-Retinol Eye Cream! We had a waitlist of 2500 people after it sold out the first time. And our classic Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter is always a fan favorite.. one jar is sold every 14 seconds!

What are your summer skincare tips?
A hydrating mineral SPF! Taking care of your skin is so important, especially when the UVA & UVB rays are in full effect. Take your time to apply Argan Daily Moisturizer SPF 47 on the face, and Whipped Argan Oil SPF 45 Body Butter for everywhere else. And be sure to reapply every 2 hours. After a long day in the sun, replenish hydration with Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter and then lock in the moisture with 100% Pure Argan Oil.

Favorite summer makeup trend?
Less is always more during the summer heat, and glowing skin will be a big trend. We start by protecting our skin with one of our favorite SPFs, Argan Daily Moisturizing SPF 47 Protect + Perfect, and then finish it off with a multi-tasking Argan Color Stick on lips and cheeks.
