Self-Care #STAYATHOME Virtual Getaway
@daniellelombard

How do you spend the first thirty minutes of your day?
I usually wake up, drink a glass of water and begin my workout routine! I’ve been following Chloe Ting’s Summer Body Challenge Program and I love starting my day moving around so I stay energized throughout the day.

What is your everyday skincare routine?
My go-to skincare routine changed this last week as I tried the Obagi Blue Brilliance Triple Acid Peel. My skin was peeling for the last week, a little splotchy but today was the first day where I looked in the mirror and said WOW! It looks super fresh…like a baby’s bottom! Haha!

What have you been doing to incorporate “self-care” into your time at home?
I think this whole quarantine period has been centered around self-care. I’ve been spending more efforts trying to improve my diet, exercise regularly, read and meditate!

Where do you get your beauty products?
Most of my beauty products come from Sephora or Revolve Beauty! I’ve also been lucky to receive gifting from PR companies through my manager at Socialyte.

How often do you try new products?
Every season I like to introduce some new skincare products into my regimen. Sometimes it’s just a single product, other times it’s a complete skincare line. With new products I like to give them a two week period to see results!

What qualities do you look for in skincare?
This year I put a heavy emphasis on clean beauty and sustainable brands! That’s why I really love Derma E products. Most of the time we don’t need all the chemical additives found in other skincare lines.

What are three beauty products you cannot live without?
Everyone needs a good clay mask and Pixi Beauty’s Glow Mud Masks is AMAZING! I love using it when I feel like I’m getting breakouts (usually around that time of the month or when I’ve been traveling a lot in humid climates), BITE Beauty Agave Lip Mask – I use it as chapstick and It tastes and smells incredible, and lastly Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara.

Give us a 5 minute skincare/makeup strategy for your next Zoom meeting or date.
Moisturize with a good hydrating cream like, Derma E Vitamin C Renewing Moisturizer; Dermalogica C Brightening Boost Eye Gel; Benefit Ka-Brow Gel; Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara; Stila Convertible Color blush, BITE Agave Lip Mask and your favorite lip stick. BOOM. Ready for my closeup!

What are your tips and tricks to keeping healthy, clear skin?
Wash your face! Use a gentle cleanser in the morning and at night, be sure to use an oil cleanser to remove any makeup, oil or impurities and follow it with a nice foaming cleanser. Oftentimes, our skin isn’t clear of products and impurities which prevents our skincare products from being able to absorb into our skin. So be sure you are cleansing properly! I also keep Exfolikate by Kate Sommerville in my shower and I use it 2-3 xs per week

Do you have any other beauty hacks you can share with us?
Being someone who travels a lot, I usually try to consolidate my makeup bag and use items that are versatile. I love NYX sticks that I can use for blush and lip color, using mascara as a liquid/gel eyeliner and concealer that you can use for contour and eyeshadow primer! I’m also a big fan of mixing a BB cream with foundation, for a softer, more natural finish.

Can you share a recipe with us that you enjoy making at home?
I have been whipping up so much stuff in the kitchen lately! Haha! If you’d like some recipes feel free to check out my Instagram and TikTok @daniellellombard

What is your favorite fashion trend right now?
All about that cozy chic vibe at the moment!

Who are your top three favorite designers?
Alexander Wang, Ronny Kobo and Amina Muaddi!

What are three staple pieces in your closet you cannot live without?
High Waisted Denim, a Bomber Jacket and Black Strappy Heels.

What advice do you have for keeping organized while staying busy?
Most of my friends know, but I am super OCD. I guess it’s in my nature…*shoutout fellow Capricorns*. For those who struggle, get a planner! Write down your schedule and be realistic of your expectations throughout the day. I also love to write To-Do lists! Before I go to bed, I keep my planner and a notepad on my nightstand and I highlight the things I was able to complete and I write a list of the things I’d like to get done the next day.

Are you working on any exciting projects this year?
Well, I’m finally getting around to finishing my blog! What an epic journey! Haha! Aside from that, I have been working on a product line! Think functional fragrances for women, and a company that is all about empowering and lifting other women up! It’s still in the early stages, but hopefully it will be done by the end of the year! There’s been some delays as factories have ceased production for certain non-essential products in lieu of all the COVID-19 cases.

Where do you live and what do you enjoy spending most of your time doing?
Technically, I live in LA – but I’m really closer to South Pasadena. My neighborhood is quiet, secluded and has a real sense of community which I love. I spend most of my time running the trails near my house and staying at home, getting work done and cooking! I’m always testing out new recipes.

How did you start your career as an influencer?
My career as an influencer started when I was with a modeling agency after college. We were one of the first Eurasian Talent Agencies and we were encouraged to start promoting ourselves on Social Media. Early days, I was an “import” model and worked for Hot Import Nights (toured the US and Asia) and worked for Hankook Tires as a Formula Drift Umbrella Girl. My fan base grew from there, and shortly after I was on ABC’s The Bachelor. I didn’t really know what to expect afterwards, but I’m trying to use this platform as best as I can to encourage and promote a sense of community among women and to share my thoughts and advice for future/fellow entrepreneurs, beauty lovers and foodies!

How do you develop inspiration and ideas for the great content you create?
Following other creatives is always really helpful for me. I like to create mood boards on Pinterest and compile photos from all sorts of creatives – photographers, models, influencers, painters, makeup artists and hair stylists! Tons of food photos too for recipe inspo. YUM!

How do you stay up to date with new fashion trends and beauty hacks?
Instagram is honestly such an amazing platform. I always get the best fashion trends and beauty hacks from people I follow from all different parts of the world.
