If Copenhagen Fashion Week has taught us anything, it’s that the best street style rarely looks overly considered. For Spring/Summer 2027, the Danish capital celebrated its 20th anniversary, and outside the shows, the mood was distinctly Copenhagen: romantic but irreverent, practical but never predictable, and increasingly uninterested in the rules of traditional minimalism. The city’s signature ease was still there, but this season it came with more personality. Lace met leather, polished tailoring was worn with flip-flops, scarves replaced conventional accessories, and delicate dresses appeared alongside oversized knits and relaxed denim.
The result? Clothes that felt collected rather than coordinated. Here are the street style trends worth taking with you into the season ahead.
1. Lace Is Leaving the Boudoir
Romance has officially hit the streets. Sheer lace tops, transparent skirts, lingerie-inspired dresses and delicate layers were everywhere in Copenhagen, often tempered with pieces that felt decidedly everyday.
The styling is what makes it modern: a lace slip over a simple long-sleeve tee, a sheer dress paired with an oversized blazer, or delicate white lace grounded by an intentionally unfussy shoe. Rather than dressing lace up, Copenhagen is dressing everything else down around it.
2. The Headscarf Is the New It Accessory
Silk scarves and bandanas became one of the week’s easiest styling signatures, tied beneath the chin, wrapped over the hair or incorporated into otherwise simple looks.
It’s a small detail with serious impact. With sunglasses, a crisp shirt and a full skirt, it channels retro summer glamour; with jeans and a white tee, it feels effortlessly cool. Copenhagen’s lesson is simple: sometimes the accessory makes the outfit.
3. Flip-Flops Have Gone Fashion
Copenhagen continues to make a convincing argument for comfort. This time, the humble thong sandal appeared everywhere—from classic flat versions to kitten-heeled iterations that turned one of summer’s simplest shoes into something unexpectedly polished. And no, they weren’t reserved for beachwear. They accompanied lace, tailoring, maxi skirts, knits and wide-leg trousers. The slight wrongness of the pairing is precisely what makes it work.
4. The New Layering Is Deliberately Unexpected
A camisole over a fitted knit. Lace beneath an oversized sweater. A transparent dress over a white T-shirt. A sweatshirt casually tied around a satin skirt. Copenhagen’s best outfits relied less on individual statement pieces and more on how those pieces were put together. The recurring formula was a study in contrasts—feminine with masculine, sheer with substantial, polished with sporty. It’s the kind of styling that makes pieces already hanging in your wardrobe suddenly feel new. 
5. Color Is Back
Scandinavian style may forever be associated with neutrals, but Copenhagen’s streets told a much brighter story. Turquoise, moss green, butter yellow, powder blue, lilac and cherry red punctuated the week, often appearing against white, chocolate brown and black.
Rather than head-to-toe color, the strongest looks treated saturated shades almost like accessories: a green knit, red sandal, blue skirt or brightly colored scarf was enough to transform an otherwise understated outfit.
Soft Meets Structured
One of Copenhagen’s most compelling combinations was also its simplest: something romantic paired with something tailored. Floaty skirts appeared with sharply cut blazers. Lace peeked from beneath leather. Feminine dresses were juxtaposed with boxy jackets and oversized shirting. The tension kept even the prettiest pieces from feeling precious—and gave tailoring a welcome sense of ease.
The Skirt Is Having a Very Good Season
Perhaps the clearest takeaway from the streets was the sheer variety of skirts: flowing maxis, transparent lace, romantic white cotton, slinky satin and embellished versions all made appearances.
Instead of being styled predictably, they were paired with rugby-inspired tops, oversized knits, crisp shirting, relaxed tees and flat shoes. It’s femininity without fuss—the Copenhagen way.
The Bigger the Bag, the Better
While micro bags aren’t disappearing entirely, Copenhagen made room for something refreshingly useful. Oversized totes, slouchy leather carryalls and roomy shoulder bags accompanied many of the strongest looks.
There is something particularly Scandinavian about an accessory that manages to look good while actually holding your life.
Personal Style Is the Real Trend
The most important Copenhagen trend may not be a trend at all. Matching friends, mixed prints, unexpected accessories, vintage-feeling pieces and high-low combinations gave the streets an individuality increasingly difficult to find during fashion month. Vogue similarly singled out everything from coordinated dressing and scarves to sporty shorts and prairie romance among the season’s street-style movements.
