Describe the overall concept of Saltwater Luxe.
Beach chic & luxury, Inspired by the West Coast lifestyle. Locally designed in the heart of Los Angeles SWL represents a unique and modern way of thinking with Feminine styling created for confidant females. All pieces are wearable & versatile. From brunch to beach to nights out, Saltwater Luxe carries you effortlessly from one sun-kissed adventure to the next. SWL Captures the spirit of all things beach- a lifestyle brand. Feminine Prints, One-of-a-kind Textures and limited edition fabrics are the signatures that bring individual character to every piece.
What inspired the creation of the brand?
After constantly looking for the perfect balance of beach chic & luxury that could be worn anywhere, Saltwater Luxe was established. The company has brought together two of the industry’s top designers to create and provide luxury wear that will fill the void in today’s market. With more than 15 years of industry experience, designers Christa Bischofberger and Kristy Kalsman gained expertise in creating clothing that’s affordable, while maintaining quality. With a background collaborating for brands including RipCurl, Roxy, Billabong and Scrapbook the designers were able to perfect the Southern California, beach luxury look.
Saltwater Luxe, a locally designed, luxurious ready-to-wear clothing line, was launched in October 2015 through its online store. With custom one-of-a-kind textures and feminine floral prints, Saltwater Luxe offers feel good pieces to women everywhere. Both girls draw inspiration from vintage clothing and the beach lifestyle thus creating a feminine clothing line created for confident females.
Tell us about your latest collection?
Our Spring 2019 collection embraces fabrics and prints that take us back to nature with an emphasis on florals. We tend to focus on femininity every season, but especially with this latest collection. We chose floral prints with a soft-vintage look and paired them with bodies that were flattering on every body.
Favorites from your Spring/Summer collection?
Christa’s favorite is the Monroe jumper. So comfortable, versatile and easy to wear. I can wear it to brunch with my girlfriends or throw on a denim jacket and wear it to work. Kristy’s favorite is the Hayden Robe. This robe truly goes with anything and everything. I can dress it up or down depending on the occasion.
Must-haves for the season?
The Crossfire Bomber is a must-have. This jacket is truly for anyone. It is the easiest throw-on-and-go piece. Wear it with jeans for an effortlessly casual look or pair it back to your LBD for a night out with girlfriends. The Halsey wrap dress is also a given must-have for Spring. A pretty wrap dress is a staple every woman should have in her closet.
How would you describe the Saltwater Luxe girl?
She is a dreamer and a lover, she is confident but feminine. Her style is effortlessly chic and her wardrobe reflects that. The SWL babe is unapologetically feminine, whether she is at the beach, brunch with her girlfriends or a night out on the town, she is she is guaranteed to make an entrance and leave a lasting impression.
What do you see as the hottest trends for Spring?
Although we research trends and watch the runway shows, we love to stay true to who we are. We will always want to create essential pieces to wear all season long from flowy dresses to two-piece sets our goal is to always create timeless clothing.
What we can look forward to with Saltwater Luxe?
With the success of our bomber jackets, we are excited to expand on that category. For Fall 2019 we will launch a “true” Sweater and outerwear collection showcasing novel yet versatile pieces. We are also constantly introducing new textiles to the line and are very excited about our Holiday fabrications. We will bring in subtle shine on satin and crepe surfaces, lending a luxurious feel to our dresses and blouses.
