Modeliste: At what age did you know you had a passion for acting?
Sofia: I don’t remember a time in my life when I didn’t love performing, singing or acting. It’s just my whole life I’ve always loved it.

Modeliste: What was one of your first roles you remember having?
Sofia: The first that I ever I got after hundreds and hundreds of auditions was a guest-starring role on Austin & Ally on Disney Channel, and then my first film was Descendants.
Modeliste: What are you set to star in the upcoming movie Descendants 2, and can you give us any hints as to what Descendants 2 has in store for fans?
Sofia: Descendants 2 is coming out this summer and we are so excited. I will come back as Evie and you guys can look forward to some amazing, amazing musical numbers and of course, Evie’s amazing fashion.
Modeliste: What’s your favorite part of being on set?
Sofia: My favorite part of being on set is whenever I get to step into the Evie wig and the Evie costume, always feels so amazing, and just being able to be directed by someone like Kenny Ortega, who’s such a legend.
Modeliste: Growing up, what did you think of the villains portrayed by Disney, and what is it like to star as one now?
Sofia: It’s really interesting to play the daughter of a villain, ’cause growing up, you always kind of idolize the princess, and you never really pay attention to the villains, but there’s so much backstory and some depth and darkness behind villains, and it’s really cool to bring their story to life.
Modeliste: You also have an amazing voice. When did you first start your super singing talent?
Sofia: Well, according to my parents, I was singing and dancing before I was walking and talking, which explains why I’m so clumsy. I always loved music and songwriting, but I was signed for the first time when I was 21.
Modeliste: If you could have a duet with anyone who would it be?
Sofia: If I could have a duet with anyone? I’m going to say Bruno Mars or Ed Sheeran.
Modeliste: Your song “Back to Beautiful” is a big hit on YouTube. What was your favorite aspect of making the song or video?
Sofia: My favorite aspect of making and creating “Back to Beautiful” was first, as a songwriter, I always want to tell a meaningful story, and “Back to Beautiful” tells a story of being beautiful on the inside, and shooting the music video with Emil Nava, such an incredible director, was a dream.
Modeliste: Where do you first get your inspiration from when creating music?
Sofia: I think it’s stories that I’ve been told, stories I’ve experienced, sometimes a word or a feeling can inspire a song and it usually happens pretty late at night.
Modeliste: Describe your personal style.
Sofia: My style icons growing up were classic, timeless beauty icons like Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly, so I love kind of mixing those classic elements with a little bit of an edge.
Modeliste: What are some of your go-to accessories when putting together an outfit?
Sofia: I would say shoes are a must. I love boots and booties. I think they edge up any outfit. And I also really love purses.
Modeliste: What are three of your holy grail makeup products?
Sofia: My NARS Tinted Moisturizer, my Dior pump volume mascara, and I would say for lips, it’s Charlotte Tilbury Penelope Pink.
Modeliste: What three things do you always have in your bag, not counting your phone, wallet, and keys?
Sofia: I have Chapstick, I have a pair of RayBan Aviators, and what else do I have in my bag? Water. Water. Stay hydrated.
Modeliste: Number one beauty tip?
Sofia: I tend to like my makeup to be pretty fresh and not too heavy and maybe have fun with a lip color but I think true beauty shines from within
Modeliste: Where is somewhere that you’d love to travel that you haven’t been to yet?
Sofia: I really want to go to Australia, I’ve never been and I think it would be really, really beautiful.
Modeliste: What is next on your bucket list?
Sofia: I want to jump off a plane and go skydiving.
Modeliste: Do you have any upcoming projects that you can tell us about?
Sofia: Yes, I am very excited to be releasing a new single this summer which is one of my favorite songs that I’ve recorded and written to date. And I’m really excited about it. And then also, July 21st is the premiere of Descendants 2, which I’m so thrilled about, and I’m also currently working on my album.
Modeliste: What would you like to say to your fans?
Sofia: There’s so much to say! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I wouldn’t be without you guys. Thank you for all the love and support, always. You really do mean the world to me.
Modeliste: What do you love about Modeliste?
Sofia: Well, the first cover that I saw was Shay Mitchell in Africa and I flipped. I thought it was so spectacular how they celebrate fashion and travel and beauty and also celebrate girl power.
