Nairobi, Kenya

Where natural beauty abounds in a garden oasis set in the area of Nairobi known as Karen, where Danish author and plantation owner, Karen Blixen, who became the famed novelist of the classic, Out of Africa, lived and loved and wrote her story, we find a serene getaway and a base to discover all that Nairobi offers after our safari adventure.

The House of Waine is a pristine haven of boutique luxury and sophistication, sheltered in an immaculately groomed garden with plush lawn and a sparkling pool and terrace, opening to the beautifully appointed lobby sitting area and the sunroom for casual breakfast dining, adjacent to the more intimate evening dining area. The first floor encompasses the cheery reception area, conference and meeting rooms each seating up to twenty people with a PA/CD audio system, offering catering service as well. The former private villa home has been re-designed creating a one of a kind beautiful private hotel experience for the discriminating traveler in Nairobi.

The name of the family owned hotel, Waine, is derived from the initials of the family members, and the gracious hospitality of the staff reflects this sense of family. The House of Waine presents 11 spacious rooms and Malaika suite, each with a specially chosen African name, and each uniquely designed with four poster netted beds, high end furnishings and art, flatscreen TV, and high arched windows to welcome sunshine, overlooking the front courtyard or garden and pool – some rooms with balconies. Many of the rooms can be linked together to create a configuration that makes generous spaces for families. The immense baths include a separate tub with room for two, shower, and plush robe and slippers. The recently redesigned cottage offers a delightful family home atmosphere sleeping 3 adults, space for children, private dining for six, full kitchen and small private garden. A lovely getaway tucked away from the bustle of the city. The House of Waine brings the best of personalized service in beautiful surroundings in this exciting African capital in the amazing country of Kenya, home of a phenomenal assortment of tribes and cultures plus Africa’s most treasured and endangered wildlife.
