Photographed by Sarah Krick
This Holiday season, the runways were filled with a sense of renewed excitement and creativity giving us fresh new ideas and an array of reimagined looks, from metallic lids to bold and playful pouts, color splashes, glitter and skincare routines to illuminate and achieve the ultimate holiday glow. As we look forward to the joys of the festivities, Modeliste unveils the biggest beauty trends of the season.
Get The Look: Color Blocking
Inspired by the allure of all the holiday sweets, I wanted to create a look that felt playful and bursting with color! Start by choosing three complimentary colors of eyeshadow. Apply each shadow in a different section of the eye from the inner corner all the way over to the cheekbone. Begin blending each shadow in light layers to get a watercolor effect. Continue adding more eyeshadow where you want to intensify the color for more depth. Finish the look with a lip color 2 shades brighter than your natural color. This look is pure joy!
Get the Look: Let it Glow!
For this look I was inspired by the joy of the holiday season. I used shades of rose golds and bronzes on the eyes and finished with a subtle but confident wing liner. On the cheeks and lips I used earthy pink tones and topped the lips off with a high shine gloss. The finished look is joyful and bright!
Get The Look: Metallic Smoky Eye
Inspired by the sparkle and shine of tinsel. Turn up the glamour by pairing silver with gold on your eyes. Use a natural color on your cheek and lips for balance. This bold and powerful look will definitely say life of the party.
Get the Look: The Bold Lip
Inspired by red velvet Christmas bows of the holidays. I used a deep crimson on the lips and I blurred the edges for a modern feeling. On the cheeks I put just a pinch of color and gave the eyes a wash of luminosity and glow. The look is modern, festive, and confident.
Get the Look: Sparkle, Shimmer & Shine
Inspired by the magic of Christmas, layer shades of silver shadow and glitter to create a magical twinkle on the eyes. Follow by keeping the skin fresh, hydrated, and natural. Finish with a lip color that is three times brighter than your natural lip for a freshly bitten look. This look will say celebration like no other!
Get the Look: Sugar Plum Eyes
A twist on a classic smokey eye. Get festive by replacing your shades of gray and black with shades of burgundy. Pair your lips to your eyes by using a tint of cranberry and keep your blush soft and neutral. This look will be sure to turn heads at any holiday gathering.
